Higher Education Scholarship Opportunities
The Higher Education program or scholarship program is to provide supplemental financial assistance to enrolled members of the Pawnee Tribe that are pursuing a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution of higher learning. Applicants must satisfy all Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs requirements as specified in the application packet in order to determine eligibility.
Eligibility requirements:
- Be a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. Students must provide a proof of tribal membership.
- Be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education.
- Have a financial need as determined by the eligible institution's financial aid office according to the U.S. Department of Education's formula.
- Must apply for all available financial aid.
- The completed application must be submitted by the deadline (see below).
The following documents must be submitted:
- Completed Application Form (see below)
- Tribal Membership Verification
- Letter of Acceptance from an Eligible Institution
- High School Transcript or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Transcripts from the previous term of attendance
- Financial Need Analysis Form - this must be completed by the Financial Aid department of an eligible institution indicating an unmet need
- Letter of Intent
- Class Schedule
- Selective Service Verification is required for all males

Additional Scholarship Opportunities
The Pawnee Nation is announcing additional scholarship opportunities for Tribal members. The following Pawnee Business Council Committees listed have funds available for members to apply. The amount of each scholarship will vary and depend on the amount of funding available from each Committee.
PAWNEE NATION GOVERNING DOCUMENTS COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIP
The Pawnee Nation Governing Documents Committee will hold an annual scholarship for enrolled Pawnee Tribal members who are enrolled in high school, college, or university full-time. Each applicant will follow the application process and submit a written essay for consideration. The amount of the scholarship awarded will be at the discretion of the Committee based upon the availability of funds. This is a one-time award, made in the month of August. There will be no limit on how many times an applicant may apply.
PAWNEE NATION PRINCESS EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIP
The Pawnee Nation Princess Committee will hold a scholarship contest for enrolled female Pawnee Tribal members. Applicant must be an enrolled Pawnee Tribal member and an enrolled high school senior, college, or university student, full-time. Each applicant will follow the application process and submit a written essay for consideration. The amount of the scholarship awarded will be at the discretion of the Committee based upon the availability of funds. There will be no limit on how many times an applicant may apply.
PAWNEE NATION INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Pawnee Nation Intergovernmental Affairs Committee will hold an annual scholarship for enrolled Pawnee Tribal members who are enrolled full-time in a college or university. Each applicant will follow the application process and submit a written essay for consideration. The amount of the scholarship awarded will be at the discretion of the Committee based upon the availability of funds. This is a one-time award, made in the month of August. There will be no limit on how many times an applicant may apply.
PAWNEE NATION MEDICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Pawnee Nation Medical Advisory Committee will hold an annual scholarship for enrolled Pawnee Tribal members who are enrolled in college or university full-time. Each applicant will follow the application process and submit a written essay for consideration. The amount of the scholarship awarded will be at the discretion of the Committee based upon the availability of funds. This is a one-time award, made in the month of August. There will be no limit on how many times an applicant may apply.
PAWNEE NATION LIQUOR CONTROL COMMISSION
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Pawnee Nation Liquor Control Commission will hold a semi-annual scholarship for enrolled Pawnee Tribal members or any employee that works for Pawnee Nation or a Pawnee Nation entity. Open to anyone that is employed or who is enrolled in high school, vocational, college, or university full-time and/or a member working on a particular certification. Each applicant will follow the application process and submit a written essay for consideration.
The amount of the scholarship awarded will be at the discretion of the Commission based upon the availability of funds. This is a three-time award, made in the months of August, January and June (fall, spring and summer semesters). There will be no limit on how many times an applicant may apply.
PAWNEE NATION PROPERTY COMMITTEE
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Pawnee Nation Property Committee will hold a scholarship contest for enrolled Pawnee Tribal members who are enrolled full-time in college, or university. This scholarship is for individuals who are studying for a degree in Agriculture, Agra-Business, etc.
One scholarship will be awarded for the fall semester in the amount of $200.00.
