Divisions - Food Distribution Program

The Food Distribution Program is a Federal Program that provides USDA foods and other nutrition assistance to low-income households, who reside in the Pawnee Nation Food Distribution service area.

Eligibility Requirements

Households must contain at least one person who is a member of a Federally Recognized tribe and have at least one of the following acceptable documentation:

1. An official card, letter, or other documentation issued by an Indian Tribe which indicates that the individual is a tribal member.

2. An official Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaskan Blood (both abbreviated CDIB) card.

3. An official document (letter, memorandum, form, etc.) from a Bureau of Indian Affairs office or a Tribe/Nation which states the individual named in the document is the direct descendant (son, daughter, grandchild, etc.) of a federal-recognized member.

Households are certified based on income and resource standards set up by the Federal government and must be re-certified at least every 12 months.  Elderly and disabled households may be certified up to 24 months.  The income verification is all current income in the last 30 days for all household members 18 years or older.  Households who receive Social Security, SSI, and Disability need to provide verification of unearned income.  The program has the following deductions for households:  Dependent Care, Child Support, Medical Expense, Home Care Meal-Related, and Standard Shelter/Utility Expense.  For households with no income, a Collateral Statement form is available.

Households must reside in the Pawnee Nation Food Distribution service area.  These areas include all of Pawnee County and the northeast part of Payne County.  For verification of residency, a household needs to bring in a current utility bill or rent receipt with the applicant’s name and physical address still intact.

Social Security numbers of all household members to be on the program.

The application needs to be filled out completely.
