Pawnee Nation Behavioral Health Receives New Van!
Pawnee Reserve, Okla. (June 30, 2025) – The Pawnee Nation Behavioral Health (PNBH) announces an exciting new addition to the Program. The Pawnee Nation Division of Health & Community Services (PN DHCS) gifts a new van to the newly budding program.
The new transportation vehicle is a white 2024 Chevrolet Express, 12-passenger LS Van.
Funding came from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) through Indian Health Services (I.H.S.), Department of Health and Human Services. One of the sub-activities of the funding focuses Mental and Behavioral Health Prevention and Treatment.
With the addition of the vehicle, the PN BH staff will be able to transport clients to and from social or cultural activities, health and prevention outreach, emergency healthcare services, and court appointments. This new addition increases the flexibility the program truly needs.
Tiffany Frietze-Nichols, Division Director of the PN DHCS, commented in an interview, “On behalf of the Pawnee Nation Division of Health and Community Services, we are happy to continue our collaborative efforts with the Behavioral Health Center. We saw a need that the PNBH had, and we are fortunate to still have our I.H.S. ARPA funds to assist with the purchase of the vehicle. We have been able to assist with several projects with these funds including the BHC, helipad, Pawnee County Mental Health Coalition, and various PN employee trainings.”
