Sherry Taluc, a proud member of the Kitkehahki Band of the Pawnee Nation, was born on May 27, 1952, at Pawnee Municipal Hospital in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She peacefully departed this life on July 20, 2026, at the age of 74.

Sherry spent her childhood in Pawnee and Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1971, she proudly answered the call to serve her country by enlisting in the United States Army. Following her military service, she began a distinguished career with Trans World Airlines (TWA) at the Tulsa International Airport, where she was among the first women hired to work in ramp service. After many years of dedicated service, she retired from the airline in 2004.

Sherry found great joy in attending powwows and expressing her creativity through sewing beautiful shawls, lovingly known as “Shawls by Sherry.” She will be remembered for her generous spirit, kind heart, and unwavering willingness to help family, friends, and anyone in need. Her warmth, compassion, and quiet strength touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, James Taluc; her parents, Owen “Bruce” Echo-Hawk and Wanda June Keys; her brother, Owen II “Jay” Echo-Hawk; and her sister, Alice.

She is survived by her sister, Juanita “Nito”; her brother, Jerry “Moe”; her three children, Jeffery, Jason, and Autumn; and her six cherished grandchildren, Brylee, Sam, Serafina, Elijah, Kayden, and Aurora, who will continue to honor her memory and carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and service.
