Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma | PUBLIC NOTICE TO PAWNEE NATION CITIZENS

Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma | PUBLIC NOTICE TO PAWNEE NATION CITIZENS

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS & COMMUNITY SAFETY GUIDELINES | January 16, 2026

Due to the National news coverage of the incidents of the United States Immigration Customs Enforcement activity, the following statement has been authorized for release for the safety, protection and welfare of our Tribal citizens and others.

We have been monitoring the reported incidents and Law Enforcement has been in contact with our neighboring Tribes. To date, there have been no reported detainments of our Tribal citizens.

We continue to engage with Law Enforcement and Emergency Management to publish the most credible and factual information so as to not heighten any fear or spread misinformation.

We are aware of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s notice that was broadcast to assist ICE with Operation Guardian along the Kansas State border along I-35 that has also caused recent concerns.

We ask that you review the following information, know your rights, and remain calm, should you have an encounter with any ICE official.

The Native American Rights Fund has graciously circulated the following flyer and this has also been provided for your review.
